Industrial Workshop “Process Control In Production Lines”

On 21 and 22 January 2025, PLASUS and the Fraunhofer IST were delighted to welcome more than 60 participants to an intensive and inspiring workshop on the topic

Process Control in Production Lines

Latest Developments and Future Trends

The workshop was hosted by the Fraunhofer IST and brought together industry and research experts to discuss cutting-edge developments in process control and explore the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of production lines.

On Day 1, we kicked off with insightful presentations covering a range of topics, from sputtering and HIPIMS control to the integration of machine learning and AI in production environments. Our experts Marcus Frank, Ralf Bandorf, Thomas Schütte, Friederike von Fragstein, Jan-Peter Urbach, Adam Obrusník, and Holger Gerdes shared valuable perspectives on emerging trends and practical applications.

Stimulating discussions and networking opportunities as well as a joint dinner fostered deeper exchange and rounded off the day.

The highlight of the workshop were the hands-on experiments in laboratories of the Fraunhofer IST on Day 2. Our participants gained practical insights into process monitoring and control of HIPIMS processes, PECVD applications and in-line layer monitoring across three interactive stations. This practical focus not only demonstrated the latest technologies but also allowed our guests to directly experience their potential impact on production workflows.
